Investigator-Sponsored Trials (IST)

Axsome may provide study drug, monetary or other support for scientific research in response to unsolicited requests from independent external researchers, institutions or organizations. This enables the Company to contribute to the scientific understanding and body of knowledge about certain disease areas to enhance the practice of medicine and improve patient care.

Axsome defines ISTs as studies with overall scientific merit and value to the scientific community that are developed and sponsored by an independent Third-Party Sponsor/Investigator. IST Investigators must be independent of Axsome, qualified to conduct the intended research including having the relevant and appropriate research experience, facilities, and operational infrastructure to support the planned research activities, comply with all legal and regulatory responsibilities that are applicable to the IST, ensure appropriate submission of the necessary details of the research (e.g., IST protocol, informed consent form) to the Investigational Review Board (IRB), and follow all applicable requirements of a study sponsor.
